I've been a big fan of the anime Inuyasha for some time now; although Sesshoumaru is my favorite character. I don't know why I didn't draw him instead... This was the first fanart I attempted. Inuyasha's pose was based off an official line drawing but Kagome's is original. And wonder of wonders, it actually has a background, messy as it may be.
Created with Photoshop using many layers...
Critique's are welcome, but it's pretty old so I probably won't change anything.
You don't like the background? I love it! It's a very nice drawing, better than anything I could do. You should be very proud of it.

I used a tablet and some custom brushes. And lots of layer masks to keep everything neat. Tablets are amazing; I'd melt into a puddle of goo trying to color with a mouse. Anyone who can paint using what is effectively a small brick gets my utmost respect. Mouse coloring is hard!
Oh, and I forgot to say thanks for your previous comment, so... Thank you!
I'm loving the background, too... How did you go about getting it out of focus? Is there some kind of blurring effect on Photoshop? I'm only just getting into the digital-editing side of things so I'm a bit digilliterate (haha!) for now.. I'll learn tho'!
The shading's awesome, too. Are you into modern American comic books at all? Todd McFarlane's SPAWN's got some incredible artists working on it these days! Too bad people aren't into comic book artwork too much over here in the UK.
What kinda of inks do you use for the original outlines?
...Khufu!
